Today was museum day. We visited both the Natural history and the British museum.
If you can olny pick one, I recommend the British museum. Don’t forget to see the Mummies!
Light Intensity Drizzle Rain, 10°C
Arrived at St Pancras station on time and a quick travel using London tube brought us to our hotel, the Alexandra.
Unfortunately it was a below average hotel. The building was old and tatty not to mention it was very noisy as our room was next to the main road.
The only redemption feature is its closeness to the Paddington tube station.
Light Rain, 11°C
Volendam is a traditional fishing village 20 minutes by bus 316 North of Amsterdam.
If you want to get your photo with traditional dutch customes, this is the place.
There are plenty lunch options here, fish and chip is not a bad choice.
As the last gong you can also walk few minutes to see an old wind mill.
917 bus trip from Schipol airport was a bit confusing. But hey, finally we arrived, Amsterdam Downtown Hotel. Nice little hotel with tiny winy elevator!
It is close to city centre but we were too jetlegged so went to sleep early after had Chinese food and Shaorma.
I was dissapointed not to sit in the window seat to experience the new cool larger window on the new 787 Etihad flight from Brisbane to Abu Dhabi.
But after 13 hours plus flying I was more dissapointed with Abu Dhabi airport. It
was obviously a work in progress. I imagined the airport was a luxurious one but this one is not there yet. A bit crowded just like a terminal bus in Kampung Rambutan Jakarta 😂. We actualy needed to be bussed to the airplane.
They are building a new one so next time money permitted we shall return!
Ps: To their credit, wifi was better than Auckland airport. There are also plenty charging points.
